Ancient Egypt had real technological sophistication: quarrying, transport logistics, copper tools, stone abrasives, surveying, ramps, levers, sledges, river transport, large labor organization, writing, mathematics, medicine, shipbuilding, and monumental architecture. These achievements do not need to be minimized. Lost-technology claims usually go further.
