The Younger Dryas Boundary marks the transition into the Younger Dryas cold interval, an abrupt return to colder conditions near the end of the last Ice Age. In climate science, the Younger Dryas itself is real and well documented in Greenland ice cores, lake sediments, marine records, pollen, and other paleoclimate archives. The disputed claim is that reported markers at geographically separated sites near the Younger Dryas onset define a synchronous impact horizon.
